This is a list of the Commissioners of Nunavut Territory, Canada, since its creation in 1999.

The position of Commissioner was created in 1999 with the creation of the new territory. Like other territorial Commissioners, he or she is appointed by the Government of Canada and representative to the cabinet for the territory.

The role of Deputy Commissioner was added in 2005 by admending the Public Officer Act and Seals Act to be inline with the Yukon and Northwest Territories.[1]

[edit] Duties
The duties of the Commissioner is the same as that of the lieutenant governors of the provinces, but they are not vice-regals and therefore not the Queen's Representative of the territory.
[edit] Symbols
The Commissioner has an official seal, but there is no flag other than the territorial one.
It consists of a two supporters (one is a ring seal and other Sedna) bearing the shield (purple and on it is a qulliq coloured white with yellow flames), surmounted by a rock ptarmigan on a bed of five purple saxifrage flowers and with the motto "Cooperation enhances peace". Above the motto is the Order of Nunavut and the Order of Canada.
