Gendarme (pronounced /dʒɛnˈdɑrm/ or /ˈʒɑːndɑrm/) can mean:

• Gendarme (historical), French medieval or early modern cavalryman
• A member of a gendarmerie; the word is often incorrectly used in English to refer to any French policeman
• an isolated pinnacle rock of rock on a mountain peak or ridge, such as that of Seneca Rocks in West Virginia which fell in 1987
• A tool for checking .NET assemblies for common bugs and mistakes, part of the Mono development platform
