Princess Anne Marguerite Brigitte Marie of Orléans[1] was born on 4 December 1938, in Woluwe-Saint-Pierre, Belgium.[1] Anne is the Duchess of Calabria through her marriage to Infante Carlos, Duke of Calabria.[1]
Princess Anne is the third daughter and the fifth child[1] of the Orléanist claimant to the French throne, HRH Prince Henri, Count of Paris (1908-1999), and his wife HRH Princess Isabelle of Orléans-Braganza (1911-2003), Princess of Orléans-Braganza.[1]

On 12 May 1965, Princess Anne of Orléans married, at Dreux, in France, Don Carlos of Bourbon-Two Sicilies, Duke of Calabria and Head of the Royal House of Two Sicilies.[1] Prince Carlos is the son of Don Alfonso of Bourbon-Two Sicilies, Duke of Calabria (1901-1964) and Princess Alice of Bourbon-Parma (born 1917). Princess Anne met Prince Carlos in Athens, in 1962, at the wedding of King Juan Carlos of Spain and Queen Sophia of Spain.
