James Simon Rix (born 18 October 1977, Leeds, West Yorkshire) is the bass player for popular British band Kaiser Chiefs and is famous for his large curly hair which has led to the nickname 'Jesus' by fans and 'curly wand' amongst friends.[citation needed]. He went to school at St. Mary's School, Menston, Leeds with Nick Hodgson and Nick 'Peanut' Baines, who are also members of Kaiser Chiefs.
Live Rix mostly play a Fender Precision Bass (standard), and changes to Fender Jazz Bass (Geddy Lee) when playing songs from the latest album.
He studied mathematics and geography at Leeds University, and he is a vegetarian.[1]
