Tauresium is a fortified settlement from the Early Byzantine period^{[citation needed]}. The ancient town was the birthplace of Emperor Justinian I. It is located in Zelenikovo Municipality near Skopje, Macedonia and it was later renamed "Justiniana Prima" in his honor.
