[edit] History
The first single, "Put On", is produced by Drumma Boy and Kanye West, and features Kanye West using an Auto-Tune effect.[2] The second single, "Vacation", was released on August 12, 2008 on his website www.USDA2DAY.com.[3] Production came from DJ Toomp, Shawty Redd, Don Cannon, and Drumma Boy.[4] The Recession was first leaked onto the internet on August 26, 2008, one week prior to its official release date. On October 25, 2008, Young Jeezy released a third single, "Crazy World". It is said that Jeezy finished the recording on the "Crazy World" video on October 25, and it was directed by Marc Klasfeld. Young Jeezy has also finished making the video "Who Dat" and was produced by Shawty Redd. Young Jeezy has stated on MTV News that he is planning on making a video for every track on the album. One of the biggest surprises on the album is the appearance of Nas, whom Jeezy had been briefly angry at in late 2006 due to Nas titling his album Hip-Hop Is Dead.
On 106 & Park, Jeezy stated that the material on this album was like "Thug Motivation on steroids. Young Jeezy in a recent interview with XXL stated that his next album will feature Don Cannon produced tracks multiple times ".[5].
