Valkeakoski (lit. white rapids) is a town and municipality in Finland.
Valkeakoski is located 35 kilometres (22 mi) south of Tampere and 150 km (93 mi) north of Helsinki in the province of Western Finland and is part of the Pirkanmaa region. The municipality has a population of 20,495 (31 March 2009)[2] and covers an area of 372.24 square kilometres (143.72 sq mi) of which 100.13 km2 (38.66 sq mi) is water.[1] The population density is 75.32 inhabitants per square kilometre (195.1 /sq mi).
The municipality is unilingually Finnish.
Valkeakoski is best known for its paper industry and domestically highly successful football team, FC Haka.
