This page is for requesting that a page, image or template be fully protected, semi-protected, move-protected or unprotected. Please read up on the protection policy. Full protection is used to stop edit warring between multiple users or to prevent vandalism to high-risk templates; semi-protection is usually used only to prevent IP and new user vandalism (see the rough guide to semi-protection); and move protection is used to stop pagemove revert wars. After a page has been protected, the protection is listed in the page history and logs with a short description indicating why it was protected, and the article is listed on Special:Protectedpages. Further discussion should take place on the Talk page of the article. In the case of full protection due to edit warring, admins do not revert back to specific versions of the page, except to get rid of obvious vandalism.
If you would like to request a page to be protected or unprotected, please follow the following steps:

[edit] Current requests for protection
Place requests for either semi-protection, full protection, move protection, or create protection at the TOP of this section. Check here if you cannot find your request. Only recently answered requests are still listed here.
| Generally speaking, Wikipedia's Main Page featured article will not be fully or semi-protected. Protection will only be considered in the event of extremely high levels of vandalism - more than is usually observed for Today's Featured Article. |
[edit] Apocalypticism (edit|talk|history|links|watch|logs)
Indefinite semi-protection, Apocalypticism is a contentious article because the documented apocalypticism of Jesus of Nazareth is a key argument against his divinity. The story of Jesus's apocalypticism has been buried, and otherwise deemphasized over history by Christian apologists. It's mention has been a repeated deletion target of anonymous editors, even though it is the only section which is supported by academically accepted sources. Pontiff Greg Bard (talk) 06:55, 10 July 2009 (UTC)

Temporary semi-protection vandalism, Skirting of talk page consensus by an IP who keeps adding ethnic content. - ALLST✰R▼echo wuz here 06:47, 10 July 2009 (UTC)
- I have NOT done any vandalism...I've added someone's nationality in the article which is very useful but she keeps removing it. She should know that consensus takes time before a decision is made. So She should not remove the information I've added until then. Thanks!--119.73.1.149 (talk) 07:14, 10 July 2009 (UTC)

Semi-protection IP hopping spammer (previously Brandbihari (talk · contribs) Brandbihari2 (talk · contribs) + several 59.94.xx.xx IPs) persistently adding links to his website since at least mid-May. Three-day semi-protection recently expired and he is back; given that this has been going on for almost two months, I think we need semi-protection for a few months rather than a few days. Semi-protection; Can something please be done about this? Another user and I reached a consensus and after some mediation but for a long time, either anonymous editors or who I believe to be agents of the subject will not allow any "negative" information in the article and refuse to come to the Talk page for discussion. This has now gone on for two years with untold number of reverts. Surely this is the case for some kind of intervention?Sgmiller 09:27, 9 July 2009 (UTC)
[edit] Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now (edit|talk|history|links|watch|logs)

Temporary semi-protection This is borderline, I know, but a jumping IP has been gaming the edit warring policy to continually add unsourced negative content to this page. A stationary IP would have probably been blocked because he's doing the same thing to other pages; this is just his most favorite. I hate having to ask for this, but I'm really tired of this editor. If you simply want to make spelling corrections or add information to a protected page that is not disputed, and you are not involved in any disputes there, consider simply adding {{Editprotected}} to the article's talk page, along with an explanation of what you want to add to the page. See the list of current {{Editprotected}} requests.
If you do want a page that exists unprotected, please try to ask the protecting admin first before making a request here.

Unprotection. Young Ace is the name of a new (first issue published in July 2009) manga anthology title from Kadokawa Shoten that is now home to some significant Manga, including MPD Psycho and Neon Genesis Evangelion. From what I gather, the article was deleted and protected back in 2008, at a time when it refered mainly to a music group and not to this new manga title. Luis Dantas (talk) 12:37, 9 July 2009 (UTC)

[edit] An hero (edit|talk|history|links|watch|logs)
Page has been protected for a long time, supposedly due to the fact that it was an implausible typo for suicide. Actually, it is a *chan/ED meme about suicides for seemingly silly reasons. For example, a kid who committed suicide because his iPod got stolen would be called "an hero". This meme stems from a kid who actually did commit suicide for that reason, as when a group of /b/tards (users of any given /b/ (random) board, for those who don't know) were trolling the kid's MySpace, one of his friends accidentally called him "an hero" rather than "a hero". I wouldn't be surprised if people occasionally look the meme up here, and I think it would be suitable for the "an hero" page to redirect to suicide. 24.87.87.122 (talk) 23:53, 7 July 2009 (UTC)
Not unprotected - Although Ryulong (talk · contribs) is no longer an administrator it may be wise to ask for his reasons for protecting the page and his current opinion, then re-list your request as necessary. Camaron · Christopher · talk 09:13, 8 July 2009 (UTC)
[edit] Current requests for edits to a protected page
- When making requests here, either:
- Provide a good reason for a substantial edit to a protected page. These are only done in exceptional circumstances, or when there is very clear consensus for an edit and continued protection. Please link to the talk page where consensus was reached.
- Demonstrate that there is a clear dispute over a protected page, and that a specific dispute tag would be appropriate to add. Please link to the talk page where the dispute exists.
Note: Unless the talk page itself is protected, you may instead add {{Editprotected}}, {{Editsemiprotected}} or {{Request edit}} to the article's talk page if you would like an inconsequential change rather than requesting it here, though most of these should simply wait for unprotection.

Declined – There is not enough recent disruptive activity to justify protection at this time. If there's significantly more disruptive activity in the future, consider relisting. SoWhy 12:29, 8 July 2009 (UTC)

Temporary semi-protection. Current target for IP socks of an indefinitely blocked former editor. Note that the sock master is on DHCP, so I'm seeking protection instead of/in addition to a block, as a block will simply cause the sock master to "respawn". See the talk page discussion for context. Declined, only one recent IP vandal. I recommend warning the IP, and reporting to AIV if necessary. Plastikspork (talk) 06:18, 8 July 2009 (UTC)

Semi-protected for a period of 2 months. After 2 months the page will be automatically unprotected. Since these looks like deja vu and this is a long-term issue I am trying long term protection. Camaron · Christopher · talk 09:51, 8 July 2009 (UTC)
[edit] Fucked Company (edit|talk|history|links|watch|logs)
Temporary semi-protection vandalism, I asked for protection yesterday with the summary: This page has been a target of spam from a related forum for months, and has been protected twice before for this behaviour. The link in question is currently pending blacklisting, but the queue is backed up so I'm asking this page to be protected for a time until the blacklist takes effect and this was declined because disruption wasn't recent enough to validate protection. Just now this page was spammed again, showing the need for this to be protected. ThemFromSpace 04:12, 8 July 2009 (UTC)

Temporary semi-protection vandalism, Article has been subject to constant vandalism. Only temporary protection is needed since article is in AfD and appears will not survive. ttonyb1 (talk) 03:41, 8 July 2009 (UTC)
Semi-protected for a period of 3 days. After 3 days the page will be automatically unprotected. One or two IPs appear to be making productive edits, but since vandalism appears to be getting out of control and outweighs this a short protection seems appropriate.
